Partners in Care Sponsors the 31st Auburn Senior Health Care
Everyone involved in planning the Annual Auburn Senior Health Fair is excited for this wonderful event to be back at the Gold Country Fairgrounds this year.
For over 30 years volunteers from Placer Independent Resource Services, Partners in Care, Seniors First and the Auburn Senior Center, all organizations that serve local seniors, have worked to put this wonderful event together, often in the face of adversity. During the pandemic, they worked with the county to provide a drive-thru event to make sure that seniors and their caregivers were able to get flu shots and access valuable resources, without the potential risks associated with large gatherings.
Then last year, the Mosquito Fire forced a last-minute change in venue due to the fairgrounds being needed to assist with relief efforts. Luckily, the amazing community in Auburn stepped up and the Grange Hall was able to provide an alternate location at a moment’s notice. This year the health fair will be back at the fair grounds in the Maurine Dobbas Placer Building and there are no hiccups in the foreseeable future.
With a robust list of sponsors including United Healthcare, Pawnie’s Homecare, Carol’s Market, Chapel of the Hills, California Aging and Disability Resource Connection and Agency on Aging Area 4. This year’s event is already looking to be a huge success! There are over 40 vendors signed up to provide health screenings, resources, information and giveaways. Placer County will be providing free flu shots as well. Local seniors, anyone with a disability, as well as any caregivers are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this once a year opportunity. As always, it will be the first Wednesday of October, the entire event and parking is always free and there is much fun to be had!
